Dear friends,
It was wonderful to have fourteen folks follow the Lord in Believer’s Baptism this morning during the Phnom Penh service. The lady in this photo is named Vine Srey. She is the mother of two of our faithful teens. She came to Christ because of their good example in the home. Please pray that she will become faithful in her church attendance as well as find some ministry in which she can serve.
We were blessed to have some folks from Pacific Baptist of Prey Bang with us this morning. They left their village at 6:00 a.m. in order to arrive in time for the 8:30 a.m. service. Brother Keo and Brother Sinath are doing a wonderful job reaching people in Prey Bang village. This morning four of the men sang a special song during the service. For three of these men it was their very first time to sing in front of a large group. They did a great job! We are excited that Brother Sinath is using his skills on the guitar to honor the Lord. Please continue to pray for the church in Prey Bang village.
After the morning service we all enjoyed a meal together. Today many of our ladies got up at around 4:30 a.m. in order to prepare special food for this morning’s service. It is quite an undertaking to feed that many people all at once but it is a great time of fellowship. We normally try to have a special meal like this once every six weeks. Thank the Lord for faithful ladies who are willing to miss out on a little sleep in order to be a blessing to others.
This past week while doing follow-up in Prak Pnou village we encountered this processional. In our video update below you will actually see the parade as it goes down the middle of the street. This is a pagan ceremony where they basically transport the “territorial demon” from one location to another. The ceremony involves demon possession and blood sacrifice. This ceremony is just one more reminder that Prak Pnou village needs the Lord. Thank you for your continued prayers for Prak Pnou village and the workers who are so diligently laboring there. Today was our third week of this new church plant. I’m not sure what our total was but it was somewhere over 70 folks in attendance as well as around 25 national workers from Phnom Penh. Please continue to pray for this new church.
Here is the link to a video we shot today in Prak Pnou village. In this video you will see the ceremony that we witnessed in the village last week. You will also see a few short excerpts from this morning’s service in Phnom Penh. I also included a little video from our potluck which followed the service. It is because of faithful people like you that we and the team are able to be here and see lives changed by God’s power. Realize this – nearly every person you will see in this video from our morning service was lost and without hope just four years ago. Many, if not all of them, would have participated in pagan ceremonies just like the one you will witness in this video. Thank the Lord for His saving power! Wow!! You guys have definitely outgrown that rooftop. So nice to see familiar faces as well as new ones! We’re praying for you faithfully:) And was that a curry fellowship?
Yes! Curry! About 15-20 different kinds.
